The Story Behind Proper Plumbing
Most people don't dream of becoming plumbers. Neither did Scott MacPhail. But a helper job after school changed everything. The work was challenging, hands-on, and most importantly - it mattered. People needed help, and he could fix their problems.
Over the years, Scott MacPhail mastered his craft, working with plumbing companies and general contractors. Through years in the field, working with plumbing companies and general contractors, Scott MacPhail saw what "proper" plumbing should look like. And too often, what he saw in the industry wasn't it. Missed appointments? Not proper. Confusing bills? Not proper. Empty promises? Definitely not proper.
The Proper Way Forward
That's what drove Scott MacPhail to create Proper Plumbing. Not to build some huge corporation, but to give people what they actually need - plumbers who show up when they say they will, do the job right, and explain things clearly. Being family-owned isn't just a label for us. We're here to do plumbing properly - with real care, honest work, and respect for every home we enter. Because at the end of the day, this isn't just business. It's about making sure our neighbors get the service they deserve.

The two plumbers, Scott and Caleb, were on-time, very knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. They explained every option and advised about priorities vs. 'can wait'. They fixed my drainage problem quickly and using the simplest method. They also quote in bundles rather than each job/equipment separately. My daughter has also been pleased with their work.

I appreciate the responsiveness and professionalism of everyone at Proper Plumbing. They were easy to communicate with and schedule (phew!), and did a beautiful job on installing a new bathroom faucet, repairing what we broke trying to DIY, and making my guest bath work perfectly (no more sticking handle and drainage issues!).

Prior Proper Plumbing prevents poo and pee puddles was my first thought when I saw their van in town but in my case it was a poo and pee POND that I developed under my home. Scott came right out, assessed my problem, ordered a hazmat team to remove and sanitize the area and then Clint repaired the broken pipe and made some requested upgrades in the house. They were clean, neat and efficient and let me know what to expect along the way. Very good team.

We had a leak underneath our sink which I attempted to reepair myself with no success. I phoned Proper Plumbing & spoke with Brittany. She was friendly, exceptionally knowledgeable, and was ensured that she asked all needed questions to get the information to our technician.
Scott arrived at our home early the next day, and had our "problem" diagnosed and fixed within minutes. The drain hose from our dishwasher had slipped off the garbage disposal, causing the leak. I was ready to pay my bill, when Scott said "I really didn't repair or replace anything. There's no charge."
My wife and I were shocked, and we both agreed that with ethics like his, Scott now had us as life long customers. Kudos to Scott and as we later found out, his wife Brittany for such exceptional service.

I needed my PRV replaced, and could not get the old one off for the life of me. Monday I called Proper Plumbing and was cheerfully assured by Brittany they could absolutely help me with this small job. As this was not an emergency, she scheduled me for a morning appointment that Thursday. Tuesday she called to let me know they had an opening for this Tuesday afternoon if I wanted it. Once accepted, Scott called immediately to get the details of the job and let me know the process. Within 1/2 hour of our conversation Clint arrived. Clint was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous, graciously waiting for me to finish up a work call. He quickly assessed the situation, explained my options, and let me decide what I thought was best for my situation. Scott called with my option pricing, and explained the work that would be done. Clint graciously let me take care of the paperwork so I could go back to my work. Everything was completed just as promised, and I could not be more pleased. Thank you all for making this as painless as possible, and double kudos to Clint - I cannot imagine a more pleasant interaction. I will be sure to call Proper Plumbing the next time my DIY project turns out to be more than I can handle on my own. Thanks again!!

They helped me switch out my shower and bath fixtures as well as reset my toilet, and install a new vanity. They were professional, quick, and reasonably priced. Can’t recommend these guys enough!

He helped get our lines unplugged easily and walked us through each step of the way. We later found out Scott is the owner which made his service even more great. We have since called for little fixes as simple as a toilet swap. Each time has been quick, reasonable & very friendly.

Had a major plumbing issue. Both Scott and Clint from Proper Plumbing were amazing. They were timely and worked late to insure that I had water. They were very friendly and kind. I highly recommend them and will certainly use them again for any future needs.
